Lowell Lustig leads the Syracuse University Hillel staff as the organization’s Executive Director. Working in the non-profit field his entire career, Lowell has served in the fields of higher education, health care and Jewish communal service.
Lowell holds an undergraduate degree in history and a juris doctor degree. Lowell joined the staff of Syracuse University in 2001, and was the director of the campaign to build the Winnick Hillel Center for Jewish Life. Following the successful completion of this campaign, Lowell served over 4 years as the associate dean for advancement at the Syracuse University College of Law.
Lowell spent many summers working for the B’nai B’rith camps in Starlight, (Lake Como) PA and Mukwonago, WI. He was the founder, writer, director and frequent performer of Saturday Torah Live, a permanent program fixture at both camps which interprets the weekly Torah portion through the medium of puppets complete with music and song.
Lowell resides in Manlius, NY, with his wife Elaine, and his daughters Melanie and Eliana. He enjoys golf, softball once a year and reads history every day.
